Legalmeant Skin Consult Desk

Be ready to ask

Make the most of your consultation

Write down a few questions before you go. These cover training, licensing, aftercare and how cost is set.

Before you agree to anything, ask

Use these to compare providers too.

  • Who exactly will do my treatment?
  • What is their license, and can I look it up?
  • What training do they have with this device or product?
  • Is this treatment suitable for my skin type and health history?
  • How many visits will I likely need?
  • What aftercare do you recommend?
  • What is your plan if there is a complication?
  • What will the whole thing cost, all in?

A short prep list

  1. Your medications, including vitamins and supplements.
  2. Health conditions and any recent changes.
  3. Allergies and past reactions to products or treatments.
  4. Past cosmetic procedures, with rough dates.
  5. Your questions for the provider.
  6. A notebook or phone to record answers and the quoted cost.

Having this ready helps a licensed provider decide what is suitable for you, and it means you are less likely to leave with an unanswered question.

If something feels rushed

Trust your sense that something is off. Common warning signs include:

  • Being told to decide now or lose a deal.
  • Being treated without a consultation first.
  • Not being told who will do the treatment.
  • No clear, written total cost.
  • Promises about exactly how you will look.

You can check the person's license with the relevant Louisiana state board before you return.
